Students and alumni are rallying behind a rabbi's call to help identify suspect in a break-in at USC's Jewish Center.
A man in a blue baseball cap was caught on surveillance footage breaking into the Chabad Jewish Center in the 2700 block of Severance Street Tuesday night, robbing the building of thousands of dollars worth of valuables.
Stolen items include computers, projectors and religious items.
The suspect was seen on camera gathering the items and then returning with his Dodge Caliber to load them up.
Rabbi Dov Wagner and his wife Runya have released the security photos and footage in hopes of catching the thief. Wagner said he was hopeful the footage would lead to an identification.
After the robbery, both former and current students took to social media to express their support and outrage.
"Thousands of Trojans all around the world made Chabad @ USC their home and these thieves stole from every one of them," wrote USC alumnus Joseph Cohan on Facebook.
Benefactors have donated thousands of dollars to cover the damages, raising $3,000 in the 24 hours after the break-in. A group of parents and alumni also set up a GoFundMe page for the center.

Rabbi Wagner urges anyone with information about the robber to contact the LAPD Southwest Division.
"It was a tough day, dealing with the feeling of violation, police reports, and beginning to contemplate the headaches that theft of our computer is going to cause," the Rabbi said on his Facebook page. "But it was also a special day, because of how many of you reached out with support and love."
