Chabad on Campus International | Seed Grant Applications

Dear Prospective Shliach and Shlucha,

Thank you for your interest in going on Shlichus to a university or college campus!

Chabad on Campus International facilitates matching seed grants from the Rohr Family Foundation for new campus Shluchim. Both the prospective Shluchim and the university must be approved by the Chabad on Campus Vaad (Executive Shluchim Committee) to be considered for a matching seed grant.

The following is the process for obtaining a seed grant:

  • Complete and submit the application below.
  • Ensure that the Head Shliach completes and submits an application.
  • Submit resumes for both the prospective Shliach and Shlucha (please include your education and all previous work/Shlichus experience).
  • Meet with Rabbi Avi Weinstein of Chabad on Campus International.
  • Complete and submit personality assessment tests.
  • Visit the campus you are interested in going on Shlichus to get to know the campus and community and meet with senior university administration members, local Jewish leaders, etc.
  • Raise a minimum of $30,000 prior to moving on campus.
  • Visit at least two campuses (similar to the one you are applying for) for two days during the week in addition to a Shabbos.
  • Meet with at least two members of the Chabad on Campus Vaad for an in-person interview.
  • Meet with Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky 
  • Once approved by the Vaad, the Head Shliach and new campus Shluchim will finalize an agreement. The Chabad on Campus Vaad will need to review and approve the agreement on behalf of the Rohr Family Foundation.
  • The new campus Shluchim will need to accept the terms of the grant.

The approval process for seed grant applications can take from a few weeks to a few months depending a numerous variables. To speed up the process, please be sure to complete all of the requirements listed above.
