Cal Poly Celebrates Shabbat 250

On Friday Feb. 27th, hundreds of members of the San Luis Obispo Jewish community came together to celebrate the biggest local Shabbat event of the year: Shabbat 250.

The event was hosted by four Jewish organizations that are affiliated with Cal Poly: the Chabad of Cal Poly, the Hillel of Cal Poly, and the Jewish fraternity and sorority, Aepi and Aephi. Additionally, there was a Shabbat 250 committee organized specifically for the event.

The funding for the dinner came from donors and sponsors in addition to the four organizations.

The goal of the semi-formal event was to attract 250 Jews from the area, although the attendees were primarily college students.
