This event is for current full-time students only, joining an authorized Chabad on Campus affiliated group. Student ID will be required at check-in and Saturday night concert. The International Student Shabbaton is catered to Chabad on Campus affiliates. Please contact your local Chabad on Campus affiliate to find out about your Chabad group's attendance. How much background do I need in Jewish education and observance? The International Student Shabbaton is a unique immersion program that caters to a large range of students. There is no benchmark for levels of Jewish observance or affiliation. Throughout the weekend there are various tracks to join to best serve a wide range of students, of all backgrounds. Do I need to be religious to participate? No. You only need to be looking forward to a great weekend spent together with hundreds of Jewish students! Will there be time for me to see my friends/family in New York? The Shabbaton weekend is from Friday morning November 2, through Sunday afternoon, November 4. Each Chabad on Campus affiliate personalizes the general Shabbaton to its specific group. For specific questions regarding your schedule please contact your group's leader. How much does the Shabbaton cost? The Shabbaton is heavily subsidized by philanthropists George & Pamela Rohr and other generous donors. The Shabbaton fee for students is $36. The Shabbaton fee covers local lodging, Shabbaton meals, events, workshops and Saturday night concert. Your local Chabad on Campus affiliate may charge separately for specific events related to your group. For more information contact your group's leader. Fees are charged upon registration. Space is limited, and your payment ensures your spot at the Shabbaton. Refunds are available until October 28. What level of learning can I expect? The International Student Shabbaton accommodates many academic backgrounds. We are joined by many internationally acclaimed lecturers and teachers. We have many different tracks being offered, from “Mystical Insights" to “Jewish Ethics”. There are dozens of choices of workshops and lectures to choose from… this is the ultimate buffet of Jewish education!
